What Aimer does
Farmers measure pasture covers with AIMER Vision on a smartphone, walk only part of the farm while the software estimates the rest, or skip the walk altogether with daily satellite measurement that a live farm model keeps current between passes. An interactive feed wedge shows surpluses and deficits and tests scenarios, and the software generates two-week grazing and supplement plans for the farm team. Jeremy Bryant, a dairy farmer with a PhD in genetics and farm system modelling, founded the company.
The secret behind Aimer
Every grazing decision on a pastoral farm depends on how much grass is in each paddock, and most farmers still find out by walking the farm. Once measurement comes from a phone or a satellite, the software can move from recording the farm to planning it.
Why NZVC invested in Aimer
We backed Aimer because pasture is the largest feed input on New Zealand's grazing farms and the one managed with the least data. Jeremy Bryant built it from inside the industry, as a dairy farmer and a farm systems scientist, and the product has moved from measuring pasture to planning the grazing, which is where a farmer saves time and money every week.
