Marama Labs opened a Dublin lab and raised 2 million euros

A new lab at DCU Alpha in Dublin opened alongside a raise of 2 million euros. CloudSpec places a sample in a highly reflective spherical chamber to separate absorption from scattering, which is what lets it measure liquids too cloudy for a conventional spectrophotometer.

We backed Marama Labs because sample preparation is a hidden bottleneck across every industry that relies on spectroscopy, and removing it saves real time and cost. Building in Dublin puts the team next to the European biopharma customers who have the most to gain from skipping clarification. The technology came out of serious university physics, and the team has turned it into an instrument that paying customers use in production.
