Zenno Astronautics is moving to the United States

Zenno Astronautics, a University of Auckland spin-off, said it will relocate to the United States. Three weeks earlier its shoebox-sized Z01 Supertorquer became the first superconducting magnet to operate in space.

We backed Zenno because fuel is the hard constraint on satellite lifetime and mission flexibility, and a fuel-free way to move and protect spacecraft addresses that directly across a fast-growing satellite market. The customers for attitude control are mostly American, and the company operates New Zealand's only dedicated space superconductor facility from a long way away from them. Proving the magnet in orbit first is what made the move a choice rather than a bet.
