FoundryLab makes metal parts on demand using a digital casting process built around 3D-printed ceramic moulds and a proprietary microwave furnace.
The system can take a design from CAD file to finished cast aluminium part in under a day, compared with the one to six weeks typical of investment casting, sand casting or die casting, while delivering the same material properties. The Wellington company targets prototyping, short-run production and supply-chain gaps where speed matters.
The parts come out with production material properties, not prototype ones. That is what lets a same-day casting compete for real work rather than sit on a desk as a model, and it turns foundry lead time from a fixed constraint on engineering into a scheduling choice.
