Foundry Lab began a development effort with Eaton

Eaton and Foundry Lab announced a joint development effort. Foundry Lab casts metal parts on demand from 3D-printed ceramic molds and a proprietary microwave furnace, and delivers the same material properties as conventional casting rather than a prototype substitute.

We backed Foundry Lab because casting lead times are a persistent drag on engineering and manufacturing, and same-day metal parts change how teams design and iterate. Work with an industrial manufacturer is the test of whether the parts hold up in production rather than in a demonstration. As manufacturers look to shorten supply chains and move faster, on-demand casting fills a gap that neither traditional foundries nor metal 3D printing serves well.
