Air New Zealand joined Pyper Vision to trial its fog-casting technology. The Christchurch company forecasts low-visibility conditions so airlines and airports can plan around them, after starting with a method that disperses fog directly.
We backed Pyper Vision because fog imposes large, recurring costs on aviation, and no one had built a dedicated tool to forecast and manage it. A national carrier trialing the forecast is the customer proof that turns a New Zealand aviation product into one airlines elsewhere will take seriously. With airports under pressure to improve reliability and reduce delays, demand for accurate fog intelligence is growing worldwide.
