ArchiPro is an online marketplace for the building and design industry, bringing architects, designers, builders, suppliers and product brands together in one place.
Homeowners and specifiers browse completed projects for inspiration, then source the materials, furnishings and professionals to carry out their own build or renovation. Suppliers and retailers use it as an ecommerce and lead generation channel to reach people who are actively planning projects.
Finished projects are the demand signal. Someone browsing a completed house is at the exact moment they are deciding what to build, which is why the inspiration content is what makes the marketplace work rather than a nice addition to it.
NZVC invested in ArchiPro from NZVC Fund I. We file the company under Consumer and Marketplace on the portfolio wall.
We backed ArchiPro because building and renovation is one of the largest categories of household spending, yet discovery and sourcing stay fragmented across trade contacts, showrooms and word of mouth. Inspiration content pulls in homeowners at the moment they are planning, which gives brands and professionals qualified demand and gives the platform a durable two-sided pull. The founders built a product that started in New Zealand, proved out in Australia and is now expanding to the United States, which shows the model travels. Construction and design are moving online later than most categories, and the timing rewards a platform that owns both the inspiration and the transaction.
