What Elo does

Members receive a monthly custom mix of vitamins, minerals and probiotics matched to their biomarkers and goals, plus nutritionist support and regular retesting to adjust the formula over time. Its 3D-printed smart gummies are drawn from 389 million possible formula combinations.

The secret

Personalized nutrition only works if the formula changes. Regular retesting closes the loop between what a member takes and what their blood biomarkers do next, so the recommendation gets more accurate with every cycle rather than staying fixed at whatever the first test said.

Why NZVC invested in Elo

NZVC invested in Elo from NZVC Fund I. We file the company under Bio and Healthcare on the portfolio wall.

We backed Elo because the supplement market is enormous yet mostly guesswork, and Elo grounds each recommendation in a person's own blood biomarkers and measured results. The team combined at-home testing, software and manufacturing into a single product loop that gets more accurate with every retest. As consumers move from generic vitamins toward measurable, personalized nutrition, Elo owns the data and the relationship that make that shift stick.

Ari Tulla, Co-Founder and CEO of Elo Health · 31 August 2025

You hear a founder who sold BetterDoctor explain why he moved from software into supplements and supply chains. Ari Tulla lays out how Elo uses biomarkers and AI for prevention, where AI beats doctors at pattern recognition, and why remote founders still want one room.

  • Startup pivots: BetterDoctor from consumer to API and SaaS to a PE roll-up.
  • Elo's thesis: AI plus biomarkers plus nutrition as preventative medicine.
  • AI vs. doctors: pattern recognition, triage, and the quarterback model.
